Law Day is May 1
"Voices of Democracy" is the theme. Teachers, request a judge visit your classroom on this day and teach your students about the three branches of government, important cases that challenged the 1st Amendment, and new for 2024 a lesson on judicial independence.
How to Request a Visit from a Judicial Officer:
Review Lesson options. Or describe your needs on the request form.
Submit the request with as much advanced notice as possible. At least 3-weeks in advance is preferred.
A coordinator will contact you once a volunteer has confirmed availability.
A pre-visit meeting between the teacher and judge will help best plan for the visit.
Note for virtual visits: Conduct your pre-visit planning meeting on the platform to be used for virtual visits (test connection, audio, etc.)The visit happens and feedback forms are collected!
